Career Counselor

Amanda Donald, Lead Career Counselor for the School District of Oconee County
, is a native of Oconee County.  This is her 20th year in the School District of Oconee County.  Her experience started in the classroom at Walhalla High School as a Spanish teacher. From there, she moved into the position of Career Specialist/Testing Coordinator. She served in this position at Walhalla High School and West-Oak High School for more than four years before joining the team at Hamilton Career Center.

"As a native of Oconee County, a graduate of West-Oak High School, an employee of the district, and a parent of two students in Oconee County, my roots run deep in our school district. I have a love of, an interest for, and a dedication to our students, our schools and our county."

NOW is a program formed in partnership with the School District of Oconee County and the Oconee Economic Alliance.  It continues this year with the Seniors, the original members of NOW.  New Junior members will be added to the program this year.

NOW was formed as a means to serve our community by providing meaningful work-based learning experiences that benefit students and industry in Oconee County.  

Mr. Greg Bearden (HCC Guidance Counselor) and Mrs. Amanda Donald (Career Specialist) assist NOW students in writing resumes and preparing for interviews.
